NetRhythms & Guide Cats For The Blind

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to http://www.NetRhythms.com

***************************************************
There are some fine albums to draw your attention to this week. In
particular we want to mention something a little different - Les Barker and
his songs and poems album Guide Cats for the Blind. Mike Harding, Jimmy
Young, Terry Wogan, Johnny Walker, Ned Sherrin, Paul Gambaccini, June
Tabor, Martin Carthy, Cyril Tawney and a host of radio personalities
feature on this wickedly humorous double album which is on the way to
raising ten thousand pounds clear profit for the British Computer
Association For The Blind. Richard Ellin at Osmosys has donated all the
money apart from literally one pound a copy to cover the manufacturing
admin and legal costs. So each CD can make from two pounds up to nine
pounds a copy to go towards the fund. The title track includes the line "
... I know for certain, the last place for a bind man isn't half way up a
curtain" and if you are chuckling to yourself already, this is the album
for you - or somebody's Christmas stocking.

And a rather special gig? alt Country Belles featuring Mary Gauthier, Oh
Susanna and Martha Wainwright at the Lyric Hammersmith this month Monday 27
October 745.pm. An evening of alt country music from three of today's best
female singer-songwriters. From the haunting folk romanticism of Martha
Wainwright and the potent, lush vocals of Oh Susanna, to the tough but
soulful ballads of Mary Gauthier, this evening promises to warm hearts and
inspire minds. NetRhythms has it's tickets already. To book call 08700 500
511 or www.lyric.co.uk (no booking fees). Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, King
Street, London, W6

NB I've just heard from our wonderful Fivetrees webhost, Steve Fairhead,
that they'll be changing their Internet Provider NEXT weekend. It means
that NetRhythms might be off line for a bit next weekend but DON'T PANIC,
we will be back.

In the meantime, take care and enjoy the music
