In a twisted and sick kinda way "alternative" music, to us, is manufactured 
chart-pop.  

Let's talk about Will Wotisname.  Now there's a lad you could have taken 
home to your mother's for tea, sans complaint.

I'd have been completely the wrong gender, however, but don't let's quibble 
over detail.
