The Bays and guests Geezers of Nazareth play a special show in aid of St John's homeless project. The Bays make you forget every rule you've ever been taught about live music. Ignore every outmoded notion of what it is to be a 'live' band. Forget even what you think you think 'live music' actually means. The Bays only perform live, they never rehearse, they don't have a set-list, they don't use sequencers and they couldn't ever do the same performance twice. They are not to be missed as you will never see this set again. Those who saw them headline this years Big Chill are still recovering. Local band and emerging talent Geezers of Nazareth are supporting, playing songs from their forthcoming album 'Songs on the Radio', which will be released in February on Bored? With a sound reminiscent of Elliot Smith and the Eels, the Geezers are someone you'll be hearing a lot more about in the new year, catch them now, impress your friends. The St. John's homeless project has been a part of Hackney for almost ten years and is still going strong as the only day centre for the homeless and those vulnerable to homelessness in the area. St John's is a project which works in one of the most deprived areas in the U.K. Over half of all households in the borough have an income of less than £5000 a year and most of the people who use the project experience complex combinations of housing problems and poverty coupled with health, mental ill-health and social issues. We believe that everyone has the right to live safely and peacefully wherever they choose and we are committed to making sure that the people who use our services get that chance.
