I initially considered never having "dug" the whole synth era, as a serious disadvantage to my foray into music journalism. And, if I'm honest, I was most correct. I coulda done what any other self-respecting, competitive would-be journo would have done and surrounded myself in its sound - cooing and wowing over Factory's finest - but I just thought it was shite. In the main. I felt I wouldn't be being true to myself, or my soul, if I did. So I didn't. And that's why I'll never amount to much more than I already am.
