Were you secretly pining to be on lead guitar - were you?  Did you
scribble down innovative chord sequences and dream of presenting them
one day to your band, whereupon they would (in the dream) stand
open-mouthed before the Beefheartian magnificence of your reinvention of
popular music - did you?
