Society for Creative Anachronism. The spelling "Xtianity" is, as you
point out, a contraction dating back, if not "millenia", at least to
the twelfth century CE (along with "xiana" for "Christiana" and "Xmas"
for "Christmas", and the simple use of "X" for "Christ"). The X isn't
an X, it's a rendering of Greek letter chi, the first letter in the
title "christos".
