Apparently it was Jesus Christ who taught this doctrine to the Church, before it was formed into the Church. >Don't tell me I 'invent' any reasons not to trust him, Joe- your very >own words will trip you up if you do. You have to invent reasons to dismiss the plain words of Jesus Christ is Capharnaum, and later at the Last Supper. The plain words of the Scriptures support the Catholic position. >And don't try pressing me for any answer. What do you want to say about my charge against you that either you or your pastors have had to invent reasons not to take Jesus at His word? There were many among His followers in that day who also could not trust Him, and they immediately stopped following Him at that point. The sole difference between you and them is that you can pretend to still follow Him even though you don't trust Him, while they could pretend no such thing.
