FREE weekly calendar on nuclear disarmament

Did you know that NATO will begin an 18-month missile defense feasibility
study in October?

Or that the Tennessee Valley Authority begins production of tritium for
nuclear weapons at the Watts Bar nuclear power plant, near Spring City, TN
this fall?

Or that China is slated to ratify the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty in late
October?

Or that seminars on Iran, North Korea, nuclear weapons policy, and general
arms control are planned for the next few weeks in New York and Washington?

These are just a few of the action, events, and news items you'll find
listed in FCNL's Nuclear Calendar. It's an e-mail and web-based service that
provides a weekly update of national and international events concerning
nuclear weapons, disarmament, and nonproliferation. It includes a huge
selection of timely and relevant information, including:

* Congressional hearings on pending legislation

* international nonproliferation and disarmament conferences

* links to agencies, organizations, and sources for more information.

The Nuclear Calendar is published by e-mail each Monday morning that
Congress is in session by the Friends Committee on National Legislation, a
Quaker lobby in Washington, DC The Nuclear Calendar is considered
indispensable by many disarmament activists. It is read each week at the
White House, United Nations, foreign embassies, and by many Congressional
staff. The e-mail version of the calendar covers events for the next seven
days.
