Don't forget that people will judge you by your actions, not your intentions. You may have a heart of gold -- but so does a hard-boiled egg, and that's no yolk. A reader sent an article about a lady driver who furiously blew her horn and cursed at a driver in front of her who didn't move at the green light. A policeman who was in the car behind her, arrested her. His reason: When he saw several Christian bumper stickers and a fish emblem on her car and observed her behavior, he assumed it had to be a stolen car. That story reminds us that even the non-Christian world has a mental image of how Christians should behave. So, as someone has said, "If we were arrested for being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict us?" If we are Christians, it shouldn't be a secret. We need to be aware that we are under constant scrutiny, and we need to live up the standards that have been set for us. Romans 8:15 (nlt). "So you should not be like cowering, fearful slaves. You should behave instead like God's very own children, adopted into His family -- calling Him, 'Father, Dear Father'." Serve Him as though you love Him. You do, don't you?
