James 1:27 (Light of the world)

Let me show you one way to be the "Light of the world."

James 1:27 says "Pure and undefiled religion in the site of our God and
Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress and keep
oneself unstained by the world."

If we are not merely hearers of the Word, we will see the needs of our
brothers and sisters, as well as the nonbelievers around us, and meet them
as God enables us.

It won't happen because we are trying to be good. It will happen because
love God and that love overflows to those around us. No longer will we do
what it says in James 2:15-16; simply telling the needy to "go in peace."
Through the love God has given us we will share the Gospel by reaching out
to those in need.

Doing that, God is glorified and we are shining His light.
