There is no Path?

For the past while now I've been realising that the path I feel I'm on
is nothing but an illusion and one of the main reasons for my
suffering. I don't just feel like I'm on a path to enlightenment but
also on a path to self realisation and the attainment of various
goals.

 I now realise that before I even thought of practicing Buddhism I had
embarked on these various "paths".

 What's everyone opinion on the path itself being a major illusion?
