Am I Right about consciousness?

The self only exists as long as we are conscious of it. 

Consciousness is defined as "that we are conscious of"

when we are reach enlightenment, our consciousness of the self dies.

Is that correct? 

Also what happens to consciousness when we attain enlightenment?
