Jeffrey Please see my reply to Robert Arvay. How do you explain that the passage that Barbara is quoting is actually itself an interpolation in the original text? The original BNE was published well after the death of Abdu'l-Baha and I assume that it was personally passed for publication by Shoghi Effendi himself. There is nothing out of sorts with the original passage but the passage from the later book, that Barbara is quoting, prior to 1960, seems like an aberration. Apparently the book wasn't first revised until 1937, then revised again in 1950.
