Refugee Dev, Do you think there are Baha'i laws against homosexuality? I've only seen where sodomy is forbidden--its meaning problematic. I also have seen where Baha'u'llah declares shame over sleeping with boys but doesn't seem to declare it to be forbidden. Scholars have said that the custom generally was frowned up since married men of the Iranian aristocracy did it with their slaves. Ron Segal in _Islam's Black Slaves_ stated that the custom of men dominating and buggering their slaves was generally not thought about, since one's slaves were one's private property to do with what one wished. I've not been able to determine if female owners of slaves were accorded the same privilege, but if the word "liwat" means married men buggering slave boys (as some scholars declare) then obviously women weren't considered in that regard. To the non-Baha'i outsider studying this law, it is confusing since what the Manifestation doesn't seem to say is factored in by the Guardian as interpreter of what He doesn't say but means. The alien has to accept the concept of interpretation in order even begin to understand this law. Is there anything comparable in other religions? You'd think Allah would have stated such a big law in clear and unambiguous language like when Jehovah did when He declared: "Thou shalt not kill." Right? At some point maybe Allah and Jehovah will get their culture-oriented acts together and the Universal Show on the road? --Cal
