will not provide a straight answer to a straight question.

It works like this-
First we have to guess what Jerry is thinking of...then provide an answer
to his question that reflects what he is thinking *before* we can go any
further to discuss his baseless allegation.

Movie and TV fans will recall this time honoured device employed
in a number of classics-

Batman and the Riddler.
The Never Ending Story (quite apt ;-)
The Hobbit- "What do I have in my pocket"
Esops Fables.
And the wonderful scene in Monty Python involving
the guardian of the bridge- "African or Indian Sparrow"?

In short- "Guess the impossible and I will allow the discussion/
quest to pass on".

Once having identified what Jerry has in his pocket the next
gambit/hurdle (given past experience) is a word by word
analysis requiring the identification of the- 'subject, prefix,
noun, verb, adjective, pronoun, tense and Latin origin'.

Truth is Jerry has made the extremely nasty baseless public
allegation that I, as a Baha'i, have "attacked the whole Baha'i
Faith".

Susan is getting nervous Jerry...she is of the opinion that expecting
you to explain, justify or substantiate your lie is some form of
"baiting". When she attempted the same form of accusation and
identical evasion you now employ she described being called to
 account- "hounding".

Now she advocates you take refuge in the killfile.
Do you think you will both fit under the same rock?

Pat is maintaining an undignified silence....he believes
people who shout "Stop! Thief!" are disturbing the
peace and looking to start fights.
