As I understand, in US there are about a million sexual assaults are
committed a year. Each year 240,000 males or 12% of all males become
sexual felons, but only 35,000 of them are convicted.
Fortunatly, soon the 99.9% accurate lie detector will be
available. That device extracts memory from the brain. It was
mentioned on CNN. Thus conviction rate for sexual assaults will jump
to at least 200,000 a year. Most of them will go for more then one
crime and will be eligible for life.
Can we put 200,000 men a year into maximum security prisons? Can
we built maximum security prison space for 3,000,000 sex offenders
within 15 years? I do not think so. Thus, the society will be FORCED
to consider castration as an alternative.
Surgical plus chemical castration removes a man's testostrone and
thus makes him no more dangerous then a woman or an old man. But it
in no way impairs his ability to earn income and function in society.
If anything if he is not thinking about sexual issues, he will be able
to be more productive. Instead of costing the society $30K per year
he would contribute $30K per year to society and his victims.
