Every country (and in the US, every state) has a different age of consent.
I didn't give an age, because there are so many different ages. The age of
consent, in the past, has been as low as 10 in some countries.

I wasn't commenting on if it was too low or what too low would be. The
poster had said that they thought the age of consent would be lowered. I
said that I have never heard of the age of consent being lowered, only
raised. In my state, the age of consent used to be 14, but has been raised
to 16. People are talking, now, about raising it to 17 or 18. I have
never heard any in power talking about lowering it back to 14. I have
never heard of anyone in power talking about lowering the AOC anywhere, for
anything. I just don't see it happening in the future.

This is an interesting article, but is dealing with the age of girls being
forced to marry and not with the age at which a girl (or boy) can give
legal consent to have sex with an adult.
