Lots of dynamics while I've been away it seems - some of them very strange. Rather than scrolling endlessly back to find the OP BTW, my belated best wishes to Ann on her good news. I hope that doesn't qualify me for TRIS sycophancy. Well actually... I don't *give* a fuck - sorry Ellen. Oh dear, I do hope not. That would mean that you are feigning a mock concern for Terry's treatment on this ng as means of revenge for other members of the group not supporting your attempt to dismiss the Lady Ellen. By any standards that is rather a shallow and mean-minded tactic, David. I thought you better than that. I would point out that it is also rather implausible, given your past posting history with the 'counsellor' from New England. > > > David, I'm not talking about you, ok? I'm just not as methodical about it as he is... Oh, and Daran and I have several times clashed on the issue of his piety - I doubt we need to do so again, but he knows my position on it, and I know his. > > > > I totally understand your frustration with that and I've shared some of it > > myself. > > Okay. I don't. The Lady Ellen is there for consideration - take her or leave her. I wouldn't presume to judge the reaction of others in that respect. I find it immature for David to post repeated contentless posts about her when she has demonstrated that she won't respond to them, but I would have refrained from commenting upon that if it were the only symptom of whatever ails him. He's straying dangerously close to obnoxious though with the recent attack on Cele. We may fall out over it if such behaviour continues. I give fair warning. > > > But like Cele explained to me it's just the "head people" having their > > go at *it*. > > I can see that. I have noticed a distinct tendency on your part to post one-liners in response to the Lady, even after it is clear they are not provoking a response. That is chasing the ace - all it gets you is increasingly frustrated and angry. I suggest you don't do it - but if you want to do it, don't take out your frustrations on the rest of the group. Don't pretend you think Terry is God's Gift to Usenet (when everyone knows you don't), and don't take cheap shots against other regulars. Or if you do, be prepared to forfeit what Lady Ellen would call our cosy willingness to support our Inner Sanctum right or wrong. > > > Like several others here he tries to find the good in people, and like > several > > others he also tries to present the flaws in their arguments (or in the > > Ellen-troll's case her persistent whines) by using logic. > > This sounds unusually philanthropic, if you ask me, and I don't suppose > Daran is *that* altruistic (even if he's a nice enough guy). Because that would be a real challenge (and not merely a > game). In my honest opinion Sky is at least as trustworthy as Ellen is. He did. I remember it. It didn't work. One thing you cannot accuse Daran of is inconsistency, or lack of courage in applying his principles. He gave Terry every opportunity - each one scorned. It's one of the reasons why I treat Lady Ellen's apologies for him with the contempt they deserve. Terry's had his fill of chances here, and like many others I know from personal memory how thoroughly nasty, vicious and callous he can be - in particular to visitors of t.r.he drove away. I don't need to Google Terry - I know him first-hand. I nevertheless started a debate with him after his latest 'challenge' - don't believe I've had a sensible response yet? [...] John James (JJ)
