In article <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, [EMAIL PROTECTED] says... > Wal-Mart doesn't steal *any* money from its workforce. > It pays them money. They aren't exploited either. > They can't be, by definition. Just pretend you're not a smart ass punk but Joe America, average guy who's living the American dream of raising a family in a nice town, having nice kids and decent schools and having a life. You and your wife have worked hard to raise a family, make a home, a life, friends. I'd like it a lot if we could witness you as this middle aged Joe American who got dumped out of his 25 year career by an Indian in Bangalore working for $400 a week. You have kids in college but they're okay except for the car insurance you're still paying for, 10 years left on your mortgage. Your retirement account is being depleted monthly, including cobra insurance and the food and utilities. Walmart just moved into town and ran most of the mom and pops out of business but you've been an engineer and have no retail skills. You can sweep floors or restock shelves for $8.50/hr. at night but you'll have to do that for 2 years before you can get heath insurance. Then it'll cost you 25% of your monthly wages. By then your retirement account looks more like a vacation getaway, rainy day stipend. Maybe you don't get that job a Walmart because a twenty-two year old who has more energy begged for a chance. You'd cost Walmart far more on their insurance "age curve" so they'd rather hire the young man anyway. Pretty soon you won't be able to afford health care and you and your lovely wife will have to sell your house just to live. This is your life Joe, enjoy it.
