I'm walking along the sidewalk near my house. There's a tank on the sidewalk parallel to the street. It turns it's turret toward me, keeping me in it's sights as I pass by. Then I pass another which does the same. Two steel dinosaurs with artillery. In real life tanks are very large and terrifying. Many brave men have lost control of their bodily functions at the sight of rapidly approaching tanks. I segue to the Middle East. A cross-armed hawkish manager of some kind stands before three large tanks parked neatly in a row. He's yammering about American might and ingenuity as the tanks extract oil. (Physical laws don't apply in dreams, but symbolism does.) They remind me of giant, frightening ticks pressed against the earth, sucking hydrocarbon blood. Instead of sand, they're parked on neatly manicured grass, each one set on the short grass of a golf course hole. The hawk yammers on. Suddenly I lose my temper and shout, "I don't care HOW powerful we are, they're gonna wipe us OUT!" I don't know what the chances of that are, but we have enraged the entire Muslim world and there are a LOT of Arabs in the Middle East. Remember Custer before you laugh. And watch as our soldiers are picked off one, two, seventeen at a time. American might allowed US to invade Iraq in cake walk fashion. American arrogance has turned the entire Muslim world against us. BTW, the reason why Custer's men were slaughtered was because he ordered them to box up all their sabers so they wouldn't rattle as they "snuck in." Six shots from each Colt Percussion Revolver, then they were defenseless. If they had had their sabers they might have prevailed. The Sioux Nation were actually watching them as they tried to sneak into the Little Big Horn. Sounds very much like Iraq. Little or no resistance as "We" rode in, but now the small arms are out and guerilla war is in full swing. How do you defeat a Super Power? --Let them invade you first... Remember my old rantings about how Iraq would become another Vietnam-like quagmire? Was I right? One more question: Does anyone believe the the Iraqi resistance is simply the work of "terrorists?"
