You're right. I disagree with things like the patriot act because
I feel that it has the potential to erode private citizen's freedom and
privacy.

I would like to say though, that the U.S. is not an evil nation, and
many people say literally things like "The U.S. is the most evil nation on
earth."
and "Western values are values of death and exploitation." The people that
say this are more often than not, self-hating liberal Americans!

Anyone who takes a certain amount of pride in being part of such a
prosperous
nation with strong values of freedom, democracy, and capitalism is seen as
some
kind of monster, and labeled a "jingo."

I don't understand a lot of times how people can have their value system
so twisted around. It's almost 1984ish. White is Black, Slavery is Freedom,
The U.S. is evil, Islamic Extremists are good, Israel is bad, Palestinians
who send their children strapped with bombs are fighting a "holy" war.
Illegal immigrants are good, and should have driver's licenses, those who
want the law enforced are "racist."

It's like they view the world completely inside out. And what scares me is
that these people have significant political power!

What's interesting about the fact that the world is a place of scarcity is
that a lot more
could be produced if a lot of these third world nations begain to build
themselves up and promote freedom and democracy and capitalism.

Thanks. I wish that I could do more to get rid of these anti-progressive
"progressivist" ideas than just voting, but it seems that's all I can do.
