I can imagine Saddam saying the same kind of thing you said. How cold! You see our troops as no more than logistical pawns.

What an idiot. I state an obvious truth and that's "cold". War is cold, or did your mommy lie to you? They knew the risks and in the immortal words of Robert Falcone Scott;
We knew the risks
We willingly took those risks
Therefore when things turn out against us
We have no cause for complaint

Those people chose to place themselves in harms way. Men in my generation didn't. We were drafted and put in harms way by Asshole Johnson. We were sent to fight an unwinnable war. Not an inherently unwinnable war, an unwinnable war made so by Asshole Johnson. Men were lost not at the rate of 5 a day for a good cause but 15 a day for no cause, thanks to Asshole Johnson. That's cold.
