The Nobel Prize is irrelevant except as an ego-boosting piece of
nonsense. Science is advanced one step at a time, not by geniuses but
by workers. Tortoises, not hares, and lots of them.

IQ is irrelevant, so are geniuses. Money well spent is money spent on
quantity: get lots of people above the minimum litmus, and the
advances will keep coming. 

Because innovation doesn't come through intelligence, it comes by
chance. Luck. The more people we put in it, the higher the probability
of bumping into the next breakthrough.
