Not everyone has access to the internet, especially local populations, and the poor, the very people that low power radio stations appeal to the most. Also, by and large, people tend to listen to the radio either while driving, or casually at the work place, the internet is not usually available in these 2 places. What the Republican types never want to admit is that there is a big need for low power radio stations, especially in poor and minority neighborhoods, and among localized small businesses, this is a constituency that the Republican party is for all practical purposes at constant war with. >Get a life and don't interfere with my >garage opener. There's no reason why your garage door opener would malfunction if the FCC legalizes low power radio stations, and then assigns the appropriate frequencies for everyone to share. I highly doubt that any garage door opener would use the same frequency that a radio station does.
