Dr. Zhisui Li is not a liar. He did not fabricate the story in order
to get political asylum. He came to the US because his wife was dying
and needed access to better medical care. Dr Li was Mao's personal
physician for over 20 years so he would know all of the intimate
details about Mao's personal life. The majority of the world except
China believes Dr Li.

It shows what a philanderer Mao really was. A man he could't control
his impulses and it typifies his whole career as a chinese statesman.
Just look at the disasters of the GLF and the Cultural revolution.
These were movements launched by Mao on pure impulse. His having
herpes just goes to show you that the myth of the fatherly chairman
mao has been consigned to the dustbin of history, and the real mao
emerges, a power hungry sex deviant.
