FYI I found the information on pg 490, in the book, "The Private Life
of Chairman Mao," by Dr. Zhisui Li. Mao contracted herpes during the
Cultural Revolution. here is the quote: "Mao was sufferring from one
of his frequent attacks of bronchitis and had a new veneral complaint
as well -- genital herpes."
