it is called "symbolism over substance." people make empty
gestures because it makes them feel like they are doing
something, like they are contributing to a solution.

a war ends when one side renders the other incapable of waging
war, then the winning side dictates the terms of the "peace."

peace in this world has nothing to do with true peace, it is
nothing more than the absence of war.

to have a war you must have two sides that are willing and able
to wage war. to have an absence of war you must have one less
side.
