The vast territorial expanse of present day China is the result of many waves of foreign conquest sand subsequent ironic conquest of conquerors by the conquered through, not by force, by adoption of Chinese culture by the foreign conquerors. For your information, the late Ching dynasty of less than a 100 years ago was established by Manchu tribe. Now in Manchuria you hardly find anyone in Manchuria speak native Manchurian language, thru no fault of Chinese. In fact, China is now doing something to preserve the Manchu culture.
