  Because we don't own the air they breathe for a start.  For a second
thing if we are raising kids it's because we consented to raise them
and therefore agreed to take on their expenses until age of consent.  Air is
one of those expenses.

  No, it is a voluntary exchange.  The parent agrees to provide things
