Really? Here in Siskiyou County, the Kucinich campaign people and the
local Democratic club are working together. While the Democrats can't
favor a particular candidate, we can and do work with the Kucinich
folks, helping to set up voter registration and how to use local
resources to get their word out. In return, we hope that the Kucinich
people won't bolt to the Greens if the Democratic party has a
candidate that is reasonably acceptable to the left.
We would work with other candidates, but none have established a local
grass roots campaign here yet. I'm impressed by the drive of the
Kucinich people.

'A people living under the perpetual menace of war and invasion is
very easy to govern. It demands no social reforms. It does not haggle
over expenditures on armaments and military equipment. It pays
without discussion, it ruins itself, and that is an excellent thing
for the syndicates of financiers and manufacturers for whom patriotic
terrors are an abundant source of gain.'
