Palestinian prisoner's club calls for closing the secret Zionist 1391 prison Dec 3, 2003, 12:09 Bethlehem - The Palestinian prisoner's club has urged the international community's legal and humanitarian institutions to pressure for the closure of the Zionist secret 1391 prison. The club said that the secret prison established more than 18 years ago had been the site of various forms of torture and repression against Lebanese as well as Palestinian prisoners. It said that detainees in that prison, which the club described as the black hole, were deprived of all rights included in the Geneva Convention. The club pointed to the seriousness of banning the Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations from entering that prison. It did not rule out that prisoners were murdered in that prison because anyone entered it was considered missing and his whereabouts were not known. The club said that Sheikh Mustafa Al-Deirani, a Lebanese captive abducted from his home in South Lebanon several years ago, was raped twice in that prison. Palestinians questioned in that prison said that its cells were dirty, painted in black and always dim. Furthermore, they were deprived of sleep or seeing any other captive. Prisoners said they were constantly threatened with the aim of weakening them and spreading fear and submission among them. The club said that the 1391 prison was a war crime committed by the Zionist occupation authorities in lines of the Palestinian people. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
