Thousands in funeral procession of Qassam martyr Dec 2, 2003, 17:21 Al-Khalil - Thousands of Palestinians in the Burj village, 25 kilometers to the southwest of the West Bank city of Al-Khalil, today laid to rest the Qassam martyr Saleh Talahme who was murdered at the hands of Zionist special forces along with his colleague Sayyed Al-Sheikh Qassem in El-Bireh yesterday. The inhabitants of the nearby towns declared a public mourning and rushed to take part in the funeral procession in the Burj village that is adjacent to the green line (Palestinian lands occupied in 1948). More than five thousand people of the martyr's relatives and admirers along with representatives of national and Islamic institutions and forces in Al-Khalil district shared in the procession. Wife and parents of the martyr bid him final farewell amidst ululations and songs greeting the martyr and his deeds. Participants in the funeral procession asked the Qassam Brigades to avenge the assassination crime and vowed to support resistance until final liberation. A speaker announced via loudspeakers at conclusion of the procession that the village's new mosque, which is still under-construction, would be called martyr Saleh Talahme after the martyr's name. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
