Ramallah municipality denies presence of any bodies under flattened building Dec 2, 2003, 12:26 Ramallah - A well informed source in the Ramallah municipality affirmed today that there were no bodies under the flattened Kiswani building in the Masyun suburb of the city. Zionist occupation forces yesterday destroyed the building after alleging that commander of the Qassam Brigades, military wing of Hamas Movement, in the district, Sheikh Ibrahim Hamed, was entrenched in it. The source pointed out that the municipality usually rushed to evacuate any body under the rubbles of devastated buildings if asked to do so by the Palestinian Authority's security apparatuses or civil defense. Zionist security and media sources had claimed that Sheikh Hamed was killed in the building after he refused to surrender and started firing at the soldiers prompting the army force to destroy the five-story building. However, those sources today retracted previous statements, adding that they were not sure whether Hamed was among the three killed armed combatants in Ramallah. Around 300 soldiers including intelligence agents had stormed the twin cities of Ramallah and El-Bireh at dawn yesterday and besieged a number of residential houses searching for wanted Palestinian activists. The invading force arrested in the process 29 Palestinians and murdered two Hamas cadres along with a nine years old boy and wounded 15 others in addition to destroying two residential buildings rendering 60 Palestinians homeless. Palestinian medical sources had said that the martyrs were only three the two Qassam cadres: Sayyed Abdul Karim Al-Sheikh Qassem, 30, and Saleh Mahmoud Talahme, 38, and the nine years old boy Mo'ayyed Mazen Hamdan who was shot in the head. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
