Cairo dialogue postponed till Thursday Dec 2, 2003, 11:19 Gaza - Dr. Mohammed Al-Hindi, one of the Islamic Jihad Movement leaders in the Gaza Strip, has declared that the inter-Palestinian dialogue in Cairo that was supposed to open on Tuesday was postponed till Thursday without giving reasons. Hindi said that his Movement's delegation would arrive in Cairo on Thursday to take part in the dialogue, affirming, "There will be no free concessions whether in the issue of hudna (ceasefire) or otherwise". For his part, Sheikh Saeed Siyam, one of the Hamas Movement leaders in the Strip, explained that agenda of the Cairo meeting would focus on internal Palestinian relations and would deliberate a new hudna. "We are not against any dialogue or meeting but we have our own agenda that takes into consideration the Palestinian people's interests," he elaborated. Siyam affirmed that Hamas was adamant on eradication of occupation. He added, however, that his Movement was attending the dialogue with open hearts and minds. Hamas would not accept any issue that did not conform to the Palestinian people's interests, he underlined. A Fatah official said that the dialogue would concentrate on three main topics namely a new ceasefire, formation of a collective national leadership and the international situation. Samir Mashharawi said that the dialogue was not new but rather was ongoing over the past three years of intifada and before it. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
