Sheikh Yassin urges for Muslim support on advent of Eidul Fitr Nov 27, 2003, 11:54 Gaza - Sheikh Ahmed Yassin, founder and spiritual leader of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, has urged the Muslim Ummah to restore past glory and to support Mujahideen in Islamic countries. Sheikh Yassin, speaking to reporters on the occasion of Eidul Fitr, said that Jihad for the cause of Allah was the only path towards ridding the Muslim Ummah of colonization. He noted that Eidul Fitr this year was coupled with bleeding wounds in the Muslim Ummah. He advocated cooperation and solidarity to confront challenges facing the Ummah. The Hamas leader said that the Eid should not be limited to prayers while the Ummah was suffering from disunity, corruption and occupation. Yassin hoped that the next Eid would be coupled with victories for the Ummah in Palestine, Iraq, Chechnya and Afghanistan. The Sheikh renewed insistence on Jihad in its capacity as the sole means to rid the Ummah of occupation. He charged that a crusade was being waged to wipe out the Muslim Ummah and Islam and nothing else but Jihad would repulse such an offensive. Sheikh Yassin concluded by asking the Muslims everywhere to double their efforts and support of the Mujahideen. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
