Quds Mufti: Muslims should not work in Zionist segregationist fence Nov 27, 2003, 10:34 Occupied Jerusalem - Sheikh Ekrema Sabri, Mufti of Quds and Palestine, has passed a Fatwa (edict) on the first day of Eidul Fitr banning Muslims from working in the construction of the Zionist racist fence in the West Bank. Sabri told Reuters after delivering Khutba (sermon) of Eidul Fitr prayers at the Aqsa Mosque that Muslim contractors and workers were banned from working in or contributing to the construction of the segregationist fence under any circumstances. He said that it was unreligious to contribute in building the fence, which was built on stolen land, because it would be an acknowledgement of its existence. Sabri urged Muslims to boycott working in the fence construction for the sake of obstructing its completion and asked Arabs and Muslims worldwide to remember the dangers extremist Jews pose to the Aqsa Mosque and other holy shrines. The Mufti expressed grief over the inability of Muslims to reach the Aqsa Mosque for Eidul Fitr prayers. Sabri said that he postponed the start of the prayers for 15 minutes hoping that more Muslims would arrive. Only 60,000 worshippers could make it to the Haram Al-Sahrif due to the Zionist occupation's closures and sieges in and around the occupied city of Jerusalem. http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/
