Jesus was a JEW who went to the Judean POLITICAL capital, as well as its
religious center, Jerusalem, to virtually declare Himself messiah and to get
himself killed. Jerusalem is to Jews what Washington, DC is to Americans,
their POLITICAL capital - as well as a religious center because of the Temple.
It is it not just a "religious place" or shrine to Jews. It is the political
capital of the JEWISH NATION regardless of where that Jewish nation happens
to be residing at this moment. The Jewish nation can be dispersed all over
the world, but the Jewish nation knows where its homeland and its capital
is. It knows it had a state, with a king, with laws, revolutions and a history.
The bible is a book of national myths and history to the Jewish nation, and
not just some "religious book" pointing to the return of Christ as it is to
Christians. It is our national roots.
