Another Brick in the (Wall) Peace Process

For those who suspect the dream of an Independent Palestinian State will
never materialise, are having their worst nightmares confirmed as Israel
builds it's very own version of the Warsaw Ghetto Wall.

For forty years clandestine annexation of disputed land has taken place by
the building of "settlements"; their purpose being to impede the handing
back of captured and occupied territories in the event of Israel being
forced to comply with UN Resolutions 242 and 228.

The UN, the US and indeed the EU, all have the means to make Israel comply,
but lack the will to do so, which leaves the Palestinians in a no-win
situation and powerless.

It is totally unrealistic to expect no reaction from the Palestinians to the
intrusive and brutal occupation they find themselves under. Sharon's
attempts to pull the fractions apart has had the opposite effect and makes
them stronger.

The people are also powerless against the might of the Israeli military, and
yet when they hit back at the civilian population, they provide an ideal
excuse for further repression and brutality by the IDF, as if to justify
Israel's policies and repression.

If there is a faint glimmer of hope still remaining for peace, the wall will
finally extinguish it for good, Israel must not be allowed to continue
building, the wall must stop and the illegal settlements MUST be destroyed.
