Who said anything about "free"? The shamman in the remotest tribe gets paid
for chanting and shaking his rattles. Three years ago I spent a week in a
Hmong villiage in northern Thailand and met their "healer." ("Healer" is not
exactly what he is called, but the Hmong word does ot translate well.)
Anyway, he is one of the most prosperous men in the villiage. But if the
impoverished Hmong expect to pay for their healthcare why should you expect
to get it for free, or imply that the medical establishment is somehow
remiss in charging for it? Food is even more necessary than medicine for
health, your own philosophy. Do you get your food for free?
