A song about socialism

The following tune is about the socialist tyrants of the Union of Soviet
Socialist Republics, Communist China, and the National Socialist German
Workers' Party. Sung to the tune "Phillip Pharr" by comedian Heywood Banks
from the album: Picky, Picky, Picky

There were some men named "socialists" who knew they'd never win

Subverting the law, they had lived a life of sin

They had tried the boxing ring, but it gave them the cramps

And all they ever liked to do was put themselves on stamps

Socialists, socialists, where did you go wrong?

You're fatalist fugitive pugilist philatelists

And this is your song!

They had an innocent look about them, but nasty things they'd mutter

And the noises they made while asleep would make the free world shudder

They put slaves at the cucumber processing plant, non-stop till they died

But to try and make ends meet one sold Vodka on the side

Socialists, socialists, where did you go wrong?

You're wide-eyed snide-snorin' pickle-packin' liquor-pourin'

Fatalists fugitive pugilist philatelists

And this is your song

Everybody knew they could steal with either hand

Their people were really skinny, 'cause food they couldn't understand

They would get out of bed at night and walk 'round in their sleep

And give away ration cards to the bread lines in the street

Socialists, socialists, where did you go wrong?

You're ambidextrous anorexic somnambulist philanthropists

Wide-eyed snide-snorin' pickle-packin' liquor-pourin'

Fatalists fugitive pugilist philatelists

And this is your song!
