One thing all of the above had in common was a dreary mind-numbing
style of official propaganda, wherein it was obligatory to include
phrases like "American imperialism" and "running-dog capitalists"
every third sentence or so, lest the text start to display some
kind of lively readability.

Your post, which managed to pack fourteen (14) repetitions of 
"totalitarian socialism" or "totalitarian socialists" in
one short space, was very evocative of such agit-prop.

What is it about idealogues that mandates this turn-the-crank
style of exposition?
