Its about time. There are so many better assault rifles. The M-16 was only
medicore. The article talks about
the Kalishinkov but there is better. For example the German G-36,
Lee-Enfield L85, the Styr AUG,
the FN-FAL, even the FAMAS were better rifles.

I like the British FN2000 its very similar to the OICW but much smaller. BTW
the OICW was never expected
to fully replace the M-16 or M4 but to replace the M249 and other LMG. Its
designed for Infantry support not as a infantry rifle.
