Don't get me wrong, as we in the UK are having our own big problems
with illegal immigration, economic migrants etc difficult questions
have to be asked.  However many of the arguments of your speakers are
spurious.
For example that diverse civilizations always fail/self destruct.  It
is actually that ALL civilisations eventually fade away, die or
assimilated into others, even the most ruthlessly non-diverse. This is
always due to a mix of economic, social, military and climactic
influences.
On the other hand one of the most widespread and influntial cultures
the world has known is british/Anglo.  Yet this is a melting pot of
thousands of years of diversity.Celtic mixed with saxon, angles,
Gaulish, Scandanavian and mid european, regular colonisation and mixed
marriages politically and socially.  And all this in addition to the
basic four way tension between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
Yet with all this Diversity and multiculturism the biggest Empire the
world has ever known was created and, now post-empire it is still a
powerful global culture.

Divesity isn't 'bad' for societies.  Multi-culturism isn't 'bad' for a
country.
'Bad' individuals are bad for a country.  'Cruel' practices are bad
for society.  It is the actions, the practices, the ignorance, not the
principles of diversity we need to attend to.
