Mort, and many others on this newsgroup, have been some of the strongest advocates of a large, powerful federal government standing army
I'd say that Mort has an excellent point when he says that a lot of the military would refuse. I'd also say that we have no choice right at the moment but to have a military. Isolationism just will not work.
We takes our chances. And if worse comes to worst, then we are armed.
That's what I say, anyway. Mort's mileage may very well differ.
Here's a question for Pat: Name the elected official of the executive, legislative and judicial branch of our government, or the miltary personnel who has sworn an oath to protect the United States of America from enemies both foreign and domestic.
The answer: NONE HAVE.
