All who do so violate their oaths of office, from the president on
down to the raw enlistee. At that point, they cease to be a legal

How's that? There's no Constitutional restriction on domestic use of
the Military that I can think of offhand.



There's no constitutional authorization for it unless an armed attempt is mounted to seize power of either a state or the federal government. The US invasion of the southern states 140 years ago is well known to have been illegal.


The constitution is an envelope within which the federal, and to a certain extent the several states, must remain.

The federal government has been outside the envelope so long now, at least 70 years, perhaps 90 years; that it will be difficult returning it to the reservation.

I'd like to do that bloodlessly, but I have doubts that that is possible.
