Considering that I already own 50+ and 100+ year old guns that still 
function well and reliably and that firearms made in the last 50 years are 
even more durable and reliable and could be expected to last a couple 
hundred years (with proper maintneance) and be passed on from generation to 
generation and will become even more so in time as materials technology 
improves.

Exactly when do you think that will occur?
