Considering that I already own 50+ and 100+ year old guns that still function well and reliably and that firearms made in the last 50 years are even more durable and reliable and could be expected to last a couple hundred years (with proper maintneance) and be passed on from generation to generation and will become even more so in time as materials technology improves.
