I think they traded gun industry immunity for the Assault 
Weapon Ban renewal.  I can't imagine another reason Daschle 
would support gun industry immunity from lawsuits, even with 
his own amendments added.

Well, no big deal.  You can still have nearly any gun you 
want if you're not a felon or crazy or under a TRO for 
domestic violence, etc.

Of course.  And don't forget it's the Republican controlled 
House that's renewed the ban on using ATF funds to 
investigate or process requests by felons for restoration of 
gun privileges, every year since the early 90's.
