then why were there union slave states... like Maryland and why didn't 
Lincoln "free the slaves" in the union?

and why do you ignore the militia taking on the government in Athens 
Tennessee (do a quick google on "Battle of Athens"... they even made a 
TV movie about it (but set it in Texas).
