That's for a doctor to determine, although I think if it was me I'd want to explore other options first. It isn't necessarily the case that Effexor is your only choice for depression, and if its side-effects are bad enough to consider adding MMJ then they're also probably bad enough that your doctor might be obligated (legally and ethically) to try something else besides Effexor.
Some people claim (albeit without clinical evidence) that MJ by itself is a more effective anti-depressant than anything that comes from a pharmacy. I would never advise you to try it, but the last thing you need is to be stuck taking a medicine that causes more problems than it solves just in order to serve as an excuse for smoking pot.
No, it isn't. Why don't you just admit that you want to get high, buy some weed, and take your chances with the law?
Probably because this person, like me, has taken to heart the crass, feeble efforts that the legalization crowd is willing to take in order to bail out the people whom they have encouraged to "take your chances".
