Then, why are you always suggesting it can? Clearly, your statement: "I'd have to say that the black market appears less efficient at getting drugs into the hands of children than legal distribution channels." Clearly, you are suggesting that alcohol and tobacco are #1 and #2 drugs used by children BECAUSE THEY ARE LEGAL.
I'm not certain that it's a causal link, but I'd say that whether it's directly caused or not the statistics for the legal drugs doesn't help me to feel any better about what we would achieve by legalizing everything else.
I am prepared to talk about reclassification of MJ because I think it's classified wrong, in a way that causes most of our enforcement resources to be spent on something that doesn't kill people or hurt them nearly as badly as is the case with practically anything else you could mention (including things like sugar and caffeine). Beyond that I am not prepared to concede you anything.
